Catering and Events Manager ID-1721

Summary: This position is designed to assist the Director of Catering with all aspects of events, from administrative, execution of and through follow-up. Serves as the liaison between the Catering department, client, and Banquet Operations team. The Catering and Events Manager will work in the Catering administrative office part of the week to ensure that the Banquet Event Order plan is met on the day of the event. On the day of events, the Catering and Events Manager will work closely with the guest to provide seamless and exceptional guest services at a high standard.

 

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or GED and some college preferred; one year of related experience and/or training.

Two years experience in Catering Operations.

Three years of Hands On experience in food and beverage or events.

 

Essential Functions:
Follow BACCs private club guidelines for all events.

Work with banquet and other departments to assure that the Members and guests expectations are exceeded, and the highest quality food and service are delivered.

Coordinate and verify all aspects of events to include but not limited to food and beverage, event set-up, room requirements such as: A/V, entertainment, billing, dcor, and other duties to meet client expectations.

Ensure that attention to detail is met per each BEO including set ups, floor plans, timelines, food delivery, etc.

 

Ensure BEOs are accurate and provide all relevant information to departments promptly.

Oversees personnel scheduling for special functions and may help supervise service personnel.

Assist in the physical movement of Club or customer equipment or furnishings as necessary to complete a tight turn-around of function space.

Works with vendors to enforce BACC policies; arrival, set up, meals, managing client timelines and departure.

Engage in clear communication between hosts, Banquet Operations, and kitchen.

 

Works with the Executive Chef to ensure the kitchen has enough time warning on food delivery, communication between the front of house and back of house.

If anything changes per the BEO, ensure client sign off on changes.

Ensures the security of valuables during events and assists with the pickup of clients belongings.

Discuss write ups and follow up reports with the Banquet Operations.

Provides tours in the absence of the Director of Catering & Special Events and offers suggestions in an effort to book the Clubs facilities for the occasion being planned.

Interacts with Members and guests answering questions and solving problems.

 

Ensures pre-shift meetings with personnel are conducted; relays pertinent information such as

reservations, menu changes, Member special requests, etc.

Monitors safety conditions and employees conformance with safety procedures.

Assumes responsibility of Manager on Duty (MOD) when necessary.

Assist with operations in any way that is needed to ensure the success of all Club and Private events.

 

Position duties may include any other tasks as deemed necessary by BACC to fulfill the obligations of the Club.

Requires repetitive movement, using hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.

Must stand for extended periods of time and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and reach.

 

Must be able to lift trays weighing 20-25 lbs. and able to push or pull up to 50 pounds.

Must follow all procedure manuals and safety regulations.

Must be able to work 40+ hours per week, weekends, and holidays.

Work in hot, cold, and noisy environments.
