REMOTE Plan and Site Engineer/Plan Reviewer Job Opportunity ID-3280

The Plan and Site Engineer is responsible for conducting technical analysis of development projects, ensuring compliance with building and zoning codes, and evaluating site-specific considerations that may impact project feasibility and development potential. This role encompasses projects in Los Angeles as well as other jurisdictions with varying levels of available resources.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Excellent communication and English Skills is a MUST
  • At least 3-5 years of Plan Review experience specific to US and/or LA Projects
  • MUST have knowledge of US building codes and zoning regulations across multiple jurisdictions. (Los Angeles, California and North America highly preferred)
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with various GIS software, planning resources, and research methods
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

Plan Review and Compliance

  • Review architectural plans for compliance with local building codes and zoning regulations
  • Utilize comprehensive plan review checklists, adapting them for different jurisdictions as needed
  • Identify potential issues or non-compliant elements in proposed designs
  • Provide detailed feedback and recommendations for plan revisions

Zoning Analysis

  • Analyze site-specific zoning requirements and restrictions using available resources (e.g., ZIMAS for LA,
  • local GIS systems, or direct contact with planning departments)
  • Determine allowable uses, setbacks, height limits, and other zoning parameters
  • Identify potential zoning variances or special permits that may be required
  • Review and interpret complex zoning reports and codes across various jurisdictions

Feasibility Studies

  • Conduct feasibility studies for prospective development sites in various locations
  • Evaluate technical constraints and opportunities for site development
  • Provide input on potential development scenarios based on zoning and site conditions
  • Assess regional and local market conditions that may impact project viability
