This role is focused on building and automating data pipelines from various internal and external data sources, ensuring that accurate and reliable data is available across the organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Design &amp; Operationalize Data Pipelines:<\/strong> Create automated data pipelines for BI reporting and data analysis within Costco&#8217;s operations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams:<\/strong> Work with data architects, engineers, and BI teams to design and optimize data pipelines.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ETL\/ELT Process Development:<\/strong> Design and implement ETL\/ELT processes using IICS (Informatica Cloud) and MySQL.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cloud Technologies:<\/strong> Use Azure services such as Azure SQL Data Warehouse (SQL DW), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Data Factory to enhance data pipeline performance and delivery.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Big Data &amp; NoSQL Solutions:<\/strong> Implement large-scale data processing and NoSQL solutions to provide high-value insights.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Process Automation &amp; Improvement:<\/strong> Identify and implement process improvements to automate manual workflows and optimize data delivery.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Data Reliability &amp; Quality:<\/strong> Ensure the integrity, reliability, and quality of data across systems and platforms.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communication:<\/strong> Present technical concepts to non-technical audiences both in written and verbal formats.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Peer Review:<\/strong> Conduct peer reviews of work produced by other data engineers to ensure high standards of quality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2+ years of experience in designing and operationalizing data pipelines with large, complex datasets.<\/li>\n<li>2+ years of experience with <strong>Informatica PowerCenter<\/strong> and <strong>Informatica IICS<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>2+ years of experience with <strong>cloud technologies<\/strong> such as <strong>Azure Databricks<\/strong>, <strong>Azure Event Hub<\/strong>, and <strong>Azure Data Factory<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>2+ years of experience in <strong>Data Modeling<\/strong>, <strong>ETL<\/strong>, and <strong>Data Warehousing<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>2+ years of experience with <strong>data integration techniques<\/strong> (event\/message-based integration, Kafka, Azure Event Hub).<\/li>\n<li>2+ years of experience with <strong>Git<\/strong> and <strong>Azure DevOps<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with <strong>various data sources<\/strong> such as SQL, SQL Server, flat files (CSV, delimited), Web APIs, and XML.<\/li>\n<li>Strong SQL skills and an understanding of relational databases, business data, and the ability to write complex SQL queries.<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of database storage concepts, including Data Lakes, relational databases, NoSQL, Graph databases, and Data Warehousing.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Microsoft <strong>Azure<\/strong> certifications or similar credentials.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with <strong>agile development practices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with <strong>PowerShell<\/strong>, <strong>Python<\/strong>, or similar scripting languages.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with <strong>UC4 Job Scheduler<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to the <strong>retail industry<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why Work at Costco?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Competitive Pay &amp; Benefits:<\/strong> Costco offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement plans.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Work-Life Balance:<\/strong> Enjoy the flexibility of a remote role, allowing you to manage your own schedule.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Career Growth Opportunities:<\/strong> Costco promotes from within and encourages employees to grow within the company.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Inclusive &amp; Supportive Culture:<\/strong> Costco fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace, where employees feel valued and supported.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply:<\/strong> Visit the <strong>Costco careers page<\/strong> to browse available remote data engineering roles and submit your application.
