Job Overview:

The Systems Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Systems projects at Bastian Solutions. This role encompasses a wide range of tasks including site layout planning, subcontractor and customer management, inventory handling, system checkout and startup, troubleshooting, and customer training. The Site Manager ensures the project is completed successfully, on time, and within budget, while promoting customer satisfaction and maintaining safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Collaborate with the Project Manager and Project Engineers to support overall project execution.
  • Site Management: Oversee various aspects of site management including layout, safety, inventory, communication, troubleshooting, and system validation.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers, ensuring satisfaction with the project’s progress and delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Maintain strong communication with Bastian Solutions team members and provide regular updates on project status.
  • Training & Certification: Participate in training to become certified in relevant technologies or programs.
  • Documentation: Work with Engineering teams to create and update CAD documentation for both installation and as-built records.
  • System Commissioning: Ensure successful commissioning of systems, working closely with Software and Controls teams.
  • Problem Solving: Address issues as they arise and find effective solutions to ensure smooth project completion.
  • Project Delivery: Complete projects within scope, budget, time, and to customer specifications.
  • Supplier Management: Evaluate and work with key suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of technology and software.
  • Team Contribution: Actively contribute to the growth and development of the team, including proposing new standards or techniques.

Travel Requirements:

  • 80% travel: Typically, a rotation of 10 days on-site and 4 days off.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or 10+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in project management within material handling, or 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, proficiency with MS Office, and AutoCAD experience (preferred).
  • Additional Skills:
    • PLC programming experience (preferred).
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work autonomously and within teams.
    • Experience with material handling systems is required.
    • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Skills:

  • Material Handling Experience: Experience in material handling systems is essential.
  • AutoCAD & PLC Programming: Preferred experience in AutoCAD and PLC programming for system implementation.
  • Teamwork & Problem-Solving: Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and solve complex issues.
