Quality Assurance Technician II

The Quality Assurance Tech II is responsible for ensuring manufactured products meet requirements using tools and guidelines. They inspect and verify product quality, ensuring it meets standards before reaching the consumer.

 

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs standardized quality control tests/inspection son products, materials, and components.
  • Ensures compliance with internal/external quality standards.
  • Records statistical data and compares to existing standards.
  • Clearly communicate and document non-conformances.
  • Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Understands and participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Takes on new activities and special assignments when given.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: 

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience or related experience.
  • Experience with Lean and continuous improvement project preferred.
  • Proficient in inspection skills related to inspection procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment.
  • Familiar with using the appropriate inspection tooling (i.e. micrometers, calipers, thread gages) to accurately measure part features.
  • Engineering drawing (blueprint) reading skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • PC Skills in order to document data.

  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize requests.
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decision and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to changing work environment.

 

REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or moved up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for a 8 hour shift.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPSOSURES: 

  • Routinely and regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to hot conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to non-toxic fumes.
  • Moderate noise level.
  • Exposed to oil, grease, dust, metal particles and sharp edged materials.
  • Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.

 

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be able to wear safety glasses, gloves, steel toed shoes, and occasionally hearing protection.
