Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Payment Processing: Handle insurance and patient payments, either electronically or manually, within an established timeframe.
  • Batch Management: Post payment batches, including denials, and ensure they align with daily deposits.
  • Documentation: Provide supporting documents for each transaction, including daily control numbers and production logs.
  • Policy Adherence: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Participate in unit progress meetings and work with your Supervisor to resolve any unusual issues.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Training: Must be on-site at the Alcoa Billing Center in Louisville, TN for the first 12 weeks.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 6 months of previous medical billing experience is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The ability to learn new software is also important.
  • Multitasking: Ability to handle various tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Work Environment: Office setting, with occasional standing, bending, and lifting (up to 20 lbs).
