About the Role:

As the Payroll Manager, you will lead and manage global payroll operations for Hinge Health’s rapidly growing team. You will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and the Workday Payroll Admin to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll for employees in the US and Canada. Additionally, you will oversee the payroll team’s day-to-day activities, focusing on team growth and process improvement.

  • Global Payroll Management: Process salaried and hourly payroll for over 1200 employees across multiple states using the Workday platform.
  • Workday Implementation: Lead the phase 2 implementation of the Workday Payroll system and drive future payroll module enhancements.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the payroll team, focusing on individual career growth and team development.
  • Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with multi-state tax withholdings, 401(k) audits, workers’ compensation audits, and external financial audits.
  • Payroll Reporting: Prepare payroll journal entries for financial reporting and maintain strong internal controls for the payroll function.
  • Data Analysis & Improvement: Analyze payroll data, identify trends, and implement continuous improvements to payroll processes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 8-10 years of payroll experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Platform Expertise: Proficiency with the Workday Payroll platform.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong ability to work with HR, Accounting, and other departments to ensure accurate payroll operations.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with payroll compliance regulations and tax withholdings across multiple states in the US and Canada.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and a track record of managing large data sets and audits.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communicator who can explain complex payroll-related matters clearly.
  • SOX Controls & Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of SOX controls and accounting processes related to payroll.

  • Public Company Experience: Experience in managing payroll for a publicly traded company.
  • Global Payroll Experience: Experience managing payroll for employees across multiple countries.

Salary Range (for Denver, CO):
$102,100 – $153,200 per year
