Job Summary:
As the District Retail Manager (DRM) at Polaris, you will be responsible for enhancing dealer relationships, driving retail growth, and improving the customer experience across the North and South Carolina regions. This role will require you to partner with powersports dealerships, utilizing your field sales and retail experience to ensure profitability, market share expansion, and efficient operations. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders and dealers to deliver effective solutions, improve showroom experiences, and maintain strong dealer networks. Travel is required up to 80%.

  1. Dealer Relationship & Retail Enhancement:
    • Partner with powersports dealerships to build strong relationships and drive Polaris & dealer profitability.
    • Enhance the customer experience throughout the shopping, buying, and ownership cycles.
    • Work on improving dealer network through prospecting new markets and facilitating upgrades.
    • Influence showroom layouts and merchandising to reflect market needs and seasonal consumer programs.
  2. Sales & Marketing Strategy:
    • Develop effective stocking profiles for off-road vehicles, PG&A (Parts, Garments & Accessories), and F&I (Finance & Insurance).
    • Conduct sales training and support dealer certification programs.
    • Execute traffic-building and closing strategies for maximizing retail sales.
    • Implement merchandising strategies to increase accessory attachment rates.
  3. Customer Experience:
    • Assist dealers and corporate teams in floorplan and showroom merchandising.
    • Monitor and drive adherence to Polaris branding and quality standards.
    • Address customer experience deficiencies, especially in digital and in-store engagement.
  4. Business Communication & Partnership:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between Polaris and dealers, fostering strong business communication.
    • Identify dealer profitability challenges and collaborate to implement solutions.
    • Address competitive shifts, working proactively to implement countermeasures.
    • Resolve issues promptly using a win-win approach for all parties involved.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Required:
    • 3-5 years of field sales, retail sales, or dealership experience with a proven track record of success.
    • Strong relationship-building skills, excellent customer service orientation, and the ability to influence.
    • Analytical mindset, with the ability to create strategic sales plans based on profitability and productivity metrics.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with dealership management software.
    • Self-starter, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
    • Knowledge of the powersports industry and Polaris products.
    • Dealer management system experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Remote Work: This role offers a home-office work environment, with up to 80% travel required for meetings, region travel, and customer events.
  • Travel: Travel required for customer interactions, dealer visits, and internal meetings. Some travel to remote locations and corporate functions.
