Position Title: Business Development Contractor – Remote

Location: Remote (U.S.-based, must be available from 9 am – 12 pm EST daily)

Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) – 6-month contract (with potential for extension)

About the Role:

Generation is seeking a driven and passionate Business Development Contractor to help build and maintain employer relationships for our training programs in the U.S. This role is pivotal in our mission to place learners in jobs, focusing initially on our Software as a Service (SaaS) Sales Development Representative (SDR) job training program. As part of the U.S. team, you will help us secure job placements for learners, initially from Appalachia, with the goal of expanding our impact to other rural U.S. communities.

What You’ll Do:

A. Develop New Employer Relationships (50%)

  • Identify prospects and engage new employers via referrals, online platforms, and proactive outreach.
  • Partner with the Global Employer Engagement Lead and U.S. Programs Head to grow new employer relationships.
  • Advise employers on how to engage with Generation, focusing on their hiring needs.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and maintain a network of employer connections to leverage for job opportunities.
  • Participate in conferences, exhibitions, and other events to increase Generation’s visibility.
  • Conduct strategic analyses of potential employer opportunities and manage new employer onboarding.

B. Maintain Existing Employer Relationships (25%)

  • Engage regularly with existing employer partners to maintain interest, relevance, and satisfaction.
  • Facilitate feedback loops between employers and Generation’s team to address challenges and share success stories.
  • Share newsletters and success stories to keep employers motivated and aligned with Generation’s mission.

C. Assist in the Transition to Employment (20%)

  • Work closely with the Employability Coach to support learner transitions into full-time employment.
  • Collaborate with employer partners to organize application submissions and interview events.
  • Share relevant job leads with learners regularly post-program.

D. Additional Responsibilities (5%)

  • Effectively communicate updates and key insights from employer interactions with internal teams.
  • Contribute data and insights to inform decision-making, refine strategies, and drive future opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze trends and identify growth opportunities for Generation U.S.

About You:

  • Passionate about bridging the gap between education and employment for underserved learners.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident in presenting Generation’s offerings.
  • Self-reflective and adaptable to feedback.
  • Comfortable in remote work environments and able to thrive with minimal supervision.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of business development experience, ideally in tech or sales sectors.
  • Familiarity with the sales process, from initiation to close.
  • Experience with CRM software, ideally Salesforce.
  • Experience working with underserved populations is preferred.
