Job Summary:

We are looking for a Nursing Assistant to assist professional nursing personnel in delivering patient care. You will help patients with activities of daily living, provide personal care, offer emotional support, and perform more complex clinical skills under the direction of professional nursing staff.

Essential Functions:

General Nursing Care: Positioning patients, turning, applying special equipment, assisting with the use of bedpans, urinals, commodes, and ambulating patients.
Post-Operative and Pre-Operative Care: Assist with patient care such as applying anti-embolic stockings, bed baths, oral/hair/back care, and changing bed linens.
Record Keeping: Take and document vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, blood pressure, intake/output) accurately and in a timely manner.
Room and Equipment Preparation: Prepare patient rooms for admission, ensure necessary equipment is in place, and maintain a comfortable, clean environment.
Assist with Admissions, Transfers, and Discharges: Help with patient admissions and discharges, and handle patient belongings.
Routine Treatment Procedures: Assist with treatments such as enemas and the application of heat/cold appliances under the direction of nursing staff.
Feeding and Meal Assistance: Serve and remove patient meals, assist with feeding, and prepare meal items.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Fluency in English (read, write, speak)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to organize tasks, set priorities, and manage stress
Ability to collaborate well within the department and with other teams

Qualifications:

Education: Completion of a Nursing Assistant course
Certifications: Current Nursing Assistant Certification, BLS Certification
Experience: At least six months of experience in an acute or long-term care facility

Compensation and Benefits:

Average Pay: $17 – $24 per hour
Full-Time Schedule: 3 shifts per week
