About the Role:
We are seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented transcriptionists to join our team and provide transcription services for academic research institutions. This role involves transcribing multi-speaker recordings verbatim, with some projects requiring editing of speech-recognition transcriptions. As a transcriptionist, you will ensure that all speech, pauses, and background noises are accurately captured.
Successful applicants will have a strong command of the English language, with particular emphasis on grammar, punctuation, and the ability to transcribe individuals speaking in Southern American English.

Responsibilities:
- Verbatim Transcription: Accurately transcribe multi-speaker recordings, capturing all spoken content, pauses, and background noises.
- Speech Recognition Editing: Edit transcriptions generated by speech recognition software to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Adhere to Guidelines: Follow project-specific instructions and quality standards to ensure the highest level of transcription accuracy.
- Meet Deadlines: Ensure timely completion of transcription tasks within established turnaround times.
- Collaboration: Provide regular progress updates to the project team and participate in team discussions as needed.
- Confidentiality: Safeguard the confidentiality and security of all project materials.
Requirements:
- Proficient in Multi-Speaker Transcription: Experience transcribing multi-speaker recordings verbatim, ensuring accuracy in every detail.
- Excellent English Skills: Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and the ability to transcribe clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with Southern American English: Comfort with understanding and transcribing Southern American English accents and dialects.
- Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of transcription.
- Independent Worker: Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Remote Work Setup: Reliable internet connection and a computer capable of handling transcription tasks.
- Previous Experience: While previous academic research transcription experience is preferred, it is not required.
