Job Description: As a Data Engineer at Costco IT, you’ll be responsible for developing and operationalizing data pipelines that power business intelligence (BI), advanced analytics, and various data services. This position involves working with large, complex datasets, utilizing cloud technologies, and building end-to-end data solutions that support Costco’s global growth.

  • Design & Operationalize Data Pipelines: Develop and implement data pipelines to make data available for use in BI, analytics, and various services.
  • Collaborate on Data Design: Work with data modelers, BI engineers, and product owners to design, build, and optimize data pipelines.
  • ETL/ELT Process Development: Use IICS (Informatica Cloud) to design and implement data integration workflows.
  • Utilize Cloud Technologies: Work with Azure services such as Azure SQL DW, ADLS, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Data Factory to optimize data delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience designing and operationalizing data pipelines with large datasets.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica IICS.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Cloud Technologies (Azure, ADLS, Azure Databricks, etc.).
  • 2+ years in Data Modeling, ETL, and Data Warehousing.
  • Experience with event/message-based integration (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event Hub).
  • Strong understanding of database storage concepts, including Data Lakes, Relational Databases, NoSQL, and Data Warehousing.
  • Experience with agile development environments and continuous improvement processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Azure certifications or similar credentials.
  • Experience with retail industry data integration.
  • Knowledge of SAP integration tools like Bodies.
  • Familiarity with UC4 Job Scheduler.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
