Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Oracle and Cloud database administration team, ensuring high availability and performance of critical databases.
Drive the modernization of Oracle and Cloud databases, focusing on cloud migration, resiliency, and security.
Coach and mentor team members, fostering growth and maintaining a high-performing, motivated team.
Provide technical guidance to support complex, high-priority projects and ensure effective database solutions.
Take ownership of large-scale Oracle and Cloud databases, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure backups, recovery, and high availability processes are efficiently managed.
Lead P1, P2, and P3 incidents, ensuring quick resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
Drive cloud migration strategies, including IaaS, DBaaS, and PaaS, and keep up with trends and best practices in the industry.
Ensure the alignment of database strategies with United Airlines’ long-term business goals.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA and/or Cloud DBA.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role.
- Extensive knowledge of database architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Proven experience managing large, enterprise-scale databases.
- Expertise in cloud technologies and migrations, including IaaS, DBaaS, and PaaS.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead teams, handle complex projects, and guide others through technical challenges.
- Experience managing production systems, including monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Exadata, and ZDLRA.
- Familiarity with AWS MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Aviation industry experience is a plus.
