What you’ll do:
Edit articles, cost guides, lookbooks, and other content for consumers on Yelp web properties and apps, like this article with home improvement tips, this top 100 places to eat listicle, or this cost guide.
Optimize content using the latest SEO tools and techniques.
Assist the Managing Editor with article idea generation, the creation of article assignment briefs, and managing external and internal writers and contributors.
Edit articles for the business.yelp website and the Yelp blog.
Edit other types of content to inspire and build trust with consumers and business owners, including: educational articles, guides, and customer stories.
Collaborate with colleagues in marketing, product, customer success, PR, and sales—as well as external customers, partners, freelancers, and vendors—to help create and distribute content.
Help implement, manage, and maintain all editorial systems and processes that keep us running like a well-oiled machine: editorial calendars, content plans, writer roadmaps, audits/inventories, style guides, analytics, etc.
Foster a culture of creative excellence, explain the thinking behind editing decisions, and share best practices with writers and non-writers.
What it takes to succeed:
4+ years of professional editing experience, preferably a mix of journalism and marketing environments.
2+ years of experience in a content marketing or a business editorial environment.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field.
Experience editing and rewriting long-form articles, while retaining the author’s unique style, the brand’s voice and tone, and SEO requirements.
Ability to provide additional research and reporting, as necessary.
The ability to give (and receive) constructive feedback.
Working knowledge of SEO best practices, particularly for long-form content.
Experience working with or for local small- and medium-sized businesses is preferred.
Experience with WordPress (or a similar CMS) is preferred.
Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and adept at project management.
The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a remote-work environment.

Excitement for all aspects of editorial content development: idea generation, research, gathering input and buy in, and collaborating with writers, editors, and other content marketing team members.

Compensation range for this position is $64,000- $106,000 annually. You may also be offered a bonus and benefits.
