Network Planning Analyst

Job Description
Applies expert knowledge of the IT network management process to the support of Exchange networks. The tasks associated with this support may include, but are not limited to, planning and evaluating complex network systems, maintaining network service levels, developing interface applications. Responsible for ensuring internal controls are adhered to in relation to compliance requirements, audit procedures, and security and by following industry best practices and Exchange IT network policies. Monitors and tunes the Exchange network systems to achieve optimum performance. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and documentation, provides project leadership for the planning and execution of major network projects, and provides guidance and advice to developers and users concerning IT network capabilities, software, hardware, and procedures. Ensures data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Defines disaster recovery requirements and plans and delivers a disaster recovery solution for the Exchange network systems environment. Coordinates with business units, the project management office (PMO), outside entities and IT staff to confirm compliance and risk mitigation has been met. Serves as second level support by identifying, evaluating, and troubleshooting non-routine events and incidents with the Exchange network systems. Responds to telephone calls and email requests for the Exchange network systems. Safeguards physical access to Exchange restricted data, processes and services.

Additional Qualifications/Requirements
.This is a hybrid work-from-home opportunity. Candidate must live in Dallas/Ft. Worth area. PCS not authorized. LSP may be authorized.

3 to 5 years of network experience needed.

Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot computer network systems

Provide engineering support for issues connected with the network infrastructure

Configuration, implementation, and support of all network components

Management of requests, problems, incidents, and data environments

Write and maintain technical documentation for the network environment

Participate in design, build, and test activities related to new WiFi deployments,
network upgrades, and technology/platform evaluations

Deep understanding of WLAN technologies, network management, and security,
including wireless 802.11 b/g/n/ac standards and industry best practices

Fundamental knowledge of security protocols and authentication (WPA2, EAP- TLS,
802.1x, AAA) and hands-on experience with RADIUS infrastructure (ClearPass, ISE)

Solid understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, TCP/IP, FTP,
Firewalls

Experienced in monitoring devices using several networking tools: SolarWinds,
Infoblox, Meraki, ISE, CONUS/OCONUS wireless controllers and DNAC

Support the remote store facilities and helped rolled out projects to include DC Drone, Robot,
customer Wi-Fi, IOTV and Theatro.

Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field highly desired. Five years of experience in the last six years working primarily on Cisco routers and switches. CCNA, CCNP or CCIE certification is a plus.

Or

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and three years of experience in the last five years working primarily on cisco routers and switches. CCNA, CCNP or CCIE certification is a plus.

Experience in PC or server does not meet this requirement.

Required technical skills may vary as requested by the supervisor depending on specific requirements of the position being filled.

Major Duties

Provides assistance in network planning, engineering architecture and the development of technical standards and interface applications.
Provides resolution of network problems.
Evaluates new products to support the network.

Work Challenges
24×7 work environment supporting Exchange operations, which requires either shift work, on call, and/or after hours project work and may include holidays, and weekends
IT environment is constantly changing demanding quick solutions and evolving skills
IT position located at HQ
IT position – there may be some TDY associated with this IT work
