The Video Interpreter will provide essential video remote interpreting services to our limited English proficient (LEP) community and the medical practitioners serving them across various healthcare settings. This role is crucial in bridging communication gaps and enhancing patient care through effective interpretation. Skills

Fluent in both the source and target languages (e.g., Mandarin-to-English, English-to-Mandarin).
Strong verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of medical privacy laws (HIPAA) and ethical standards in interpreting.

Responsibilities

Provide effective video remote interpreting services for consumers.

Participate in ongoing quality assurance and call monitoring programs.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1-5 years of medical interpreting experience.
Strong understanding of the medical profession and relevant privacy laws.
Extensive knowledge of the code of ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
Respect for the cultural and linguistic diversity of LEP clients.
