Senior Counsel – Contract

Job Description

Korn Ferry has partnered with a global clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company in its search for a Senior Counsel – Contract role, to collaborate across functions and stakeholders to support clinical trials and compliance. This role reports to the General Counsel. The role is preferred to be in Silicon Valley or Chicago but open to remote for the right candidate.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of agreements, contracts, clinical study-related agreements, patient informed consent forms, nondisclosure agreements, etc.; incorporate feedback from regulatory and/or ethics committees
• Assure company compliance with applicable US and global privacy policies, GDPR, HIPAA, and other data privacy regulations and cybersecurity measures
• Develop and maintain a legal document template library, maintain the executed clinical document database, and perform regular document audits in support of inspection readiness
• Continuously develop knowledge of clinical business and supported client areas

Minimum Requirements:
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• In good standing with state bar
• 5+ years in-house experience with biotech or pharmaceutical company experience preferred
• Experience in advising on R&D matters, clinical trial development and commercialization
• Substantial experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating clinical and commercial contracts
• Working knowledge and understanding of healthcare-related laws, regulations and industry standards
• Working knowledge of General Data Protection Regulation, HIPAA, and other US and global privacy policies

Title: Senior Counsel – Contract

Compensation: $250k-$296k

Location: Silicon Valley, CA or Chicago, IL preferred; remote possible
