The organization is on a journey to transform and reimagine how to best position AXP in the commercial space, to ensure mutual success for our customers and American Express through COVID recovery and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Industry Verticals team is a client management organization with B2B specialization focused on profitably accelerating B2B penetration.<\/p>\n<p>This Client Manager will report to the U.S. Verticals Director focused on the Professional Services industry. The successful candidate must have an entrepreneurial drive, a winning track record of uncovering and implementing new business opportunities, proven success building C-suite relationships, strong financial acumen, and ability to deliver differentiated and customer-first solutions and B2B payments experience.<\/p>\n<p><b>How will you make an impact in this role?<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as the B2B payments expert for all commercial solutions within their portfolio to deliver on the GCS value proposition\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and implement B2B portfolio growth and retention strategies by leveraging in-depth industry knowledge and effectively linking to the client needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Strategically and quickly adapt plans and priorities when needed to achieve the desired outcome<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Build and safeguard strong client relationships to drive NPS and sustainable volume<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Identify gaps in C-suite relationships and with executive decision makers and implement relationship stacking strategies to bridge them \u2013 effectively establishing regular customer facing touchpoints<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Lead development of client renewal and expansions proposals; negotiate complex deal constructs and oversee implementation of solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resourcefully overcome complex client barriers; quickly and thoughtfully resolve escalated issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Develop customized and strategic account plans to unlock spend growth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Work collaboratively with key business partners across various divisions of American Express including but not limited to GCS, GMNS, B2B Enablement, Analytics, Pricing, Finance, Legal and Marketing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Take a data driven approach to quantitatively sell a story \u2013 applying strong financial acumen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, and actively manage, a sales pipeline, across multiple accounts simultaneously, using CRM tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the relationship between customers and American Express to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability and retention. Also responsible for revenue growth through cross sell and add-on selling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Minimum Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years\u2019 prior strategic relationship management and\/or business development experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence internal and external partners; to effectively present products, technical solutions, and financials to clients<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Strong financial acumen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree or higher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Preferred Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of B2B, key trends, and payment processes<\/li>\n<li>Results oriented with entrepreneurial approach to portfolio management; ability to proactively identify and close profitable opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to gain in-depth understanding of client needs to inform and execute client-focused plans with limited support and guidance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven relationship management and negotiation skills; experience in successfully establishing C-level relationships and within cross-functional areas within large companies<\/li>\n<li>Innovative and solutions-oriented approach to overcoming barriers impacting client value or growth; Ability to effectively influence and manage change<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits<\/p>\n<p>The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
