As part of the <strong>Cybersecurity team<\/strong>, you will help identify and mitigate threats by simulating real-world cyber-attacks, collaborating with internal teams, and driving organizational improvement.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>About the Red Team<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n<p>The Red Team is dedicated to testing the security of Target&#8217;s systems by emulating cyber-attacks. The team works on adversary emulation, providing training for defenders, and collaborating across teams to improve security processes and technology. As a <strong>Lead Engineer<\/strong>, you will influence team direction, execute operations, and help educate internal teams on security best practices.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Adversary Emulation<\/strong>: Design and execute adversary simulation operations to surface security risks in the organization.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Research &amp; Development<\/strong>: Conduct research into threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures to develop proof-of-concept tools and playbooks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bypass Security Controls<\/strong>: Identify vulnerabilities by bypassing preventative and detective security controls.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaboration<\/strong>: Work with multiple teams, including Cyber Security Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, and Threat Hunting, to identify and improve security risks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Training &amp; Mentorship<\/strong>: Lead and train Red Team operators, providing clear communication and technical training.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technical Support<\/strong>: Assist defenders by presenting findings and operational work clearly and professionally.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Process Improvement<\/strong>: Prioritize continuous improvement and refine tools, procedures, and engagement processes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tool Development<\/strong>: Write and read code (Python, C#, Rust, Go, etc.) to accomplish Red Team goals.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Team Leadership<\/strong>: Manage work effectively in project management tools (e.g., GitHub, JIRA) and lead a high-performing team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Qualifications<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Experience<\/strong>: Minimum of 4 years of experience in <strong>offensive security<\/strong> or <strong>defensive security<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technical Knowledge<\/strong>: Strong understanding of <strong>Red Team techniques<\/strong>, including knowledge of real-world cyber-attack tactics and security controls.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Skills<\/strong>: Proficiency in <strong>Python<\/strong>, <strong>C#<\/strong>, <strong>Rust<\/strong>, <strong>Go<\/strong>, or <strong>C<\/strong> programming languages. Ability to replicate the tools and techniques of real-world threat actors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Problem Solving<\/strong>: Ability to creatively subvert systems and solve difficult problems in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaboration<\/strong>: Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally with other teams (Incident Response, Detection, Blue Teams).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communication<\/strong>: Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate technical issues and mentor others.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adaptability<\/strong>: Ability to respond to rapidly changing priorities and requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Desirable Skills<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Adversary Emulation<\/strong>: Deep experience in adversary emulation and Red Team tactics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Incident Response<\/strong>: Experience working on or with Blue Teams, including Incident Response or Detection teams.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Security Trends<\/strong>: Knowledge of current <strong>Threat Actor trends<\/strong> and their impact on security.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Large Organizations<\/strong>: Experience working in large, complex organizations with advanced security systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Work Environment<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n<p>This position can be performed <strong>Remote<\/strong> or <strong>Hybrid<\/strong> (&#8220;Flex for Your Day&#8221;), based on team and role needs.
