Registered Nurse (RN-CN1), Neuroscience Specialty Care, Nights, ONA

UC Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuroscience Specialty Care department for the night shift at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

This unit cares for acutely ill post-op patients, strokes, neuromuscular diseases, and spine disorders. This is a level 4 epilepsy center with 2 2-phase trials including induction of seizures with scalp electrodes, then electrodes placed directly on the brain dura for potential lobectomy.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4 : 1.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals.

The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

  • Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises, and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with the other healthcare team members and patient / family within the time-frame indicated by the unit’s standards of practice.
  • Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient’s care, and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient’s assessment and needs.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements :

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Associate’s Degree, minimum required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Current OH RN License
